Your Beliefs are Your Cornerstone

I am learning that all of my life has been directed unconsciously by my beliefs, beliefs that I had no conscious decision in making and/or approving of the beliefs that governed my decisions - this being said, I had no choice, I know the Big Book tells me that I lack the Power, Choice or Control over my life - and my decisions… so I wondered why.

I found a great book called the Four Agreements, which shows me that my agreements (as he calls them) of my now beliefs, were all developed throughout my life, by all of those people that I’ve the pleasure to have known. My parents, teachers, employers, peers, mates, and more… they told me what was, as they saw them, and directed me to believe certain things, which I agreed with without challenging them and without seeing the truth about them, to see if they were the truth for me.

The four Categories of beliefs are; lies) total untruthful lies. mis-understanding) something thought to be a truth but mis-understood. incorrect) something that may be correct for one application but incorrect for another. half-truths) the highest form of truth conceivable by the human brain.

The basis, or top truth that can be conceived by the human mind would be a half-truth or a partial truth because the ego is the filter of the mind and therefore won’t let 100% truth enter the mind without distorting or manipulating i before letting it reach the conscious center of the mind. A pure truth will always become biased as it enters the mind activity already in progress, and the mind activity is always in progress, so what you hear is always moved towards what you what to hear, what you already think is reality or truth, and therefore becomes altered from what its true meaning was when it was released form God.

A belief in God, and the we are not God (or God’s) is a necessity for us to become free or experience any freedom what-so-ever. The Big Book tels us that “no matter how insignificant” or “no matter how limited” we must make a start, and “continue to enlarge upon our spiritual life” which means to grow spiritually, and continue to seek the kingdom of God within.

Truth can only be found in the Kingdom of God within, when you silence the thinking mind, and quiet the drama and chaos of the ego seeking its own identification through attachment to false truths or the creators of pain and misery. Meditation is a must. I haven’t found too many people in the double digit arena who have found inner peace and joy without following the path of meditation and forming a completely selfless bond with their creator in the right order. I am the servant, He is the master.

Freedom lies just beyond the archway, of which the Cornerstone, (our belief in an all powerful and loving Creator) is the number one element. Without this Cornerstone, without this belief, and our surrender to it, and dependence in it, will will surely fail, and die spiritually. No life, run on self will, can hardly be a success. There’s only two doors to pass through; 1) self-dependency: a life run on self will. or, God-Dependency: a life run on God dependency.
